Another Kickoff...

Late Hidayatullah's specter, which I suppose perambulates in the British styled alleys of HNLU would have finally let out a sigh of relief. After a semester of chaos, the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor must have come as a catharsis. The inaugural function saw the Chief Justice and the Law Minister inspiriting the old band and the new gang with heart-stirring and stimulating words. The gathering lasted for about an hour as starry eyed freshers and glassy eyed seniors looked on from their seats. As a new regime takes over, I promise to keep you posted with the continuity within the change and the change within the continuity.

One Bovee has said,"The light in the world comes principally from two sources, the sun, and the student's lamp." Let's see if we contribute.God bless HNLU!

Well, lets hope all the lamp-lighting does not end up in vain! What with the difficulties the SC-ST students are being made to face, for absolutely no fault of theirs or anybodys!

Well actually, our university was the only govt. university of the country which was taking care of the ST(all are tribals) students without charging any kind of fees whatsoever. Our prospectus said that their fees would be reimbursed by the govt after completion of the course. The hitch was no tribal could imagine paying the hefty fees, forget about the reimbursement. The former VC was being compassionate. But by evading this provison and admitting these students without payment of any fees, he had canned the worms. The new regime discovered the can recently and has directed the concerned students to resume payment of fees. The fact remains that perhaps none among them would be able to either afford it or procure a loan.Although they have been directed to return their laptops, no notice concerning the payment of fees has been issued so far.I feel that the former VC is prosperous enough to provide for each of their's fees. The amount would be reimbursed in any case. He showed them dreams by evading rules. Now, the situation is such that nobody can help these kids. The present VC is just follwing the rules which were always the same. The former must own up, else his compassion might get branded as skullduggery.
